DRM v Mahkota Maju FC Match Summary

Turnout was good and we had more than enough players to start the game. Vince, Fadil & Asri IPE had to help make the numbers for Mahkota Maju. We also had DRM debutant, Arie play in the middle of defense and he gave us abit of steel at the back. He played with composure, helped us out of several tight spots and looks like a very good addition to DRM FC.

We dominated possession and play in the 1st half, Mike, Danan & Hailmey combined well in the middle of the park to keep things moving. Aziz as usual was a livewire in attack posing alot of problems with his darting runs here, there and everywhere. He managed to get on the scoresheet early on after running onto a long ball from midfield. Julberg then scored from an inswinging cross with his back(?) ... shoulder(?) ... stomach(?) ... in anycase, he scored regardless of which body part he used to deflect the ball into the net. A goal is a goal however you manage it! Amir D then scored the 3rd goal and our last goal in the 1st half when he managed to round the keeper for a tap in. Fadil who played upfront for Mahkota Maju on loan, managed to score after rounding both our left back and Yusra in goal.

The second half saw Mahkota Maju play their full team and they posed a menace to our defense. They were only a goal down from the 1st half after managing a late goal just before the referee blew for half time. They tinkered with their line-up and made full use of their explosive wingers. The winning goal came after their left winger picked the ball up at the half way line, accelerated past Hailmey who had no choice but to bring him down in the penalty area. They had no problems converting the spot-kick and that really sealed the game as we struggled to get a grip on the game despite some good play from Asri and Hailmey in midfield.

Overall, a competitive game for DRM. We lacked tooth in attack especially in the 2nd half, but expect us to come back fighting in our next game!

Julberg Scores Again for IM

'Hitman' Julberg scored another wonder-goal last nite playing for his IM Dept against BSRC Rekon. Although the match ended in Rekon's favour, Julberg scored the goal of the game, when his right foot canon of a shot from outside the penalty area hit the crossbar and into the back of the net!
'When you get to my age, and pace is going against you, it's more important to know how to be at the right place at the right time. My touch hasn't abandoned me yet and you can call me lucky if you want, but i have proved that i can deliver the goods!'
Sulhi and Renny also featured in last night's match, with Renny suffering from a knock on his ankle having to come off at half-time.

DRM Player Out Of Action

DRM Bula can now confirm that star left-back Ivan 'The P.I.M.P' Yong will be out of action for upto 3 months. Ivan was last in action back in the November game against Mets3 FC.

When contacted, DRM Gaffa confirmed what we had suspected earlier, 'Ivan has had ankle tendon reconstruction surgery done at the Suri Seri Begawan Hospital a week ago. He will be taking a few months rest on the doctor's advise.'
'The P.I.M.P' who tore his achilles tendon in a game at Panaga after a nasty tackle took him straight to the ground will be looking to make a quick comeback especially after a very good debut year with DRM FC. DRM Bula wishes him a speedy recovery.

Note : If any of you see 'The P.I.M.P' struggling around the Head Office with his crutches do resist the temptation to snigger and please try and extend a helping hand! The disabled are not to be laughed at... heheh :p

DRM v CP-7 Match Summary

This was our first loss in 5 games. Unfortunately we let this one slip as we lost a 2 goal advantage at half-time. The referee didn't do anything to help us throughout the game though, as the CP-7 guys demonstrated some very uncalled for aggression. We were kicked off the field as they were determined to claw back into the game. Khairul had to come off with an injured ankle and was sent straight to the hospital. Lets hope for more sporting opponents in the next game!

DRM v BSRC Rekon Match Summary

This was the one event in our DRM calendar that everyone looks forward to, our local derby against friendly rivals BSRC Rekon who over the years have always had the upper hand against us. What these guys lack in pace, they more than make up for in teamwork, skill and guts. The last game played sometime in July ended with DRM losing an early lead to two 2nd half goals even though we had the lions share of possession, and we were determined this time to make amends!

The DRM starting line up looked impressive enough, with our newest import Saleh Al-Omairy of Oman taking up a right midfield spot on his DRM debut. Julberg started upfront with Amir S for his first match in a long while, and perhaps showed some match rustiness infront of goal when the Julberg of mid-year would've probably easily jumped on those chances. Our strategy last night was to flood the midfield with players and we played 5 across the middle of the park, with three at the back and that strategy seemed to have paid off as we managed to score all of our 3 goals early. The midfield trio of G Khai, Danan, Asri supported by Saleh and Amir D looked very confident on the ball as quick one two passes were readily exchanged in the middle.

The first goal came after some good running by the midfield which resulted in G Khai being able to find Amir S with a finely threaded through ball which he wasn't going to waste. After the first goal, Renny came off the field to be replaced by Haidi as he was still feeling the effects of a very late dinner! What followed next was a spell of constant pressure on the Rekon backline as DRM pushed for a second goal. Their goalie looked on top of his game as he made a series of saves from an Amir D stinger from the left, and an Amir S follow-up from inside the penalty box. Haidi then initiated a move from our own half on the left flank, which after another series of exchanges in midfield with G Khai pulling the strings, released Amir D on the left wing for an inviting cross into the box which Amir S took on the volley only to sail just over the bar. Fadil then came on to replace Julberg, and our game immediately looked more fluid as Fadil's running provided us with far more options than before.

The 2nd DRM goal came after Saleh who showed alot of tenacity in the game with his running, put Asri into space which allowed him to put through a long ball over the Rekon defense which Fadil got to the end of in the penalty box. Fadil rounded one defender, tried to initiate a one-two with Amir D who only had one thing in mind, rounding the keeper and then flicking the ball with his back heel into the back of the net! At about the same time, Saiful Bulan came on for Haidi who quickly tired out, and he proved a rock at the back with his physique. Rekon were able to pull one back, when Fakhrul conceded a free kick on the edge of the penalty area, which Rekon's talisman in midfield, Apok was able to convert with a left foot curler into the top corner.

Our 3rd goal was scored quite late in the first half, after yet another period of attacking football from the boys in yellow and green, Amir S' through ball eventually finding the feet of super-sub Fadil who converted with a low shot from the left of goal.

Because of an excellent turn-out, we were able to field a fresh team in the 2nd half with 'Retro' Fadle taking up the left wing spot, 'Mad Cat' Meo in left back, debutant Khairul in midfield Mike, whilst student trainee Sulhi played upfront with Rahim. We decided to play abit more defensively in the 2nd half to protect our 2 goal cushion and reverted back to the more traditional 4-4-2 formation, though we picked up where we had left off looking comfortable in possession. Meo and Fadle played confidently on the left flank providing us with the width we didn't have in the first half, and Khairul showed that he wasn't fazed by playing with unfamiliar team-mates combining well with Mike in midfield.

Yusriman made the save of the match in the 2nd half when one of the Rekon strikers, looking dangerous after turning Renny the wrong way, lobbed over the onrushing keeper, but he still managed to run back to deflect the dipping ball away at the very last moment to save the day. This save and several of his first half heroics, when all looked bleak after Rekon on several instances managed to break through our offside trap, earned him the well deserved Man of The Match award.

Rekon scored a 2nd goal mid way through the 2nd half, and from then on pushed very hard for an equaliser, but we worked hard as a team to hold on from there on till the final whistle! Worth mentioning is the effort of our defense last night, Fakhrul's performance in centre-back surely deserves him a mention, G Khai who played emergency centre-back when Fakhrul came off calmed the defense down during a period of unrelenting Rekon pressure, Vince and Azhar had their fair share of tackles and interventions.

Fun Game @ BSRC

Renny scored the goal of the year at Fun Game yesterday, coming on to the pitch late, he ran on to an Amir S pass from the right, and with his first touch of the ball made sweet crisp contact with his new Adidas Predator Pulse's from 20 yards out. The ball floated in the air for what seemed like minutes before curling back in and into the top right corner of the goal.

Worth mentioning also was Haidi's sweet strikes in the first 10 minutes which put his team up 2-0!

The game ended in a 3-3 draw!

DRM v Mets3 FC Match Summary

This was our first friendly game after a 7 week long hiatus. Most of us had barely run more than a few metres let alone touch a football so this was always going to be a real challenge. The one thing we had on our side was absolute numbers! 21 of us turned up for one of the best attended game so far, and in a way it was like a reunion of sorts. The starting 11 managed to sort itself out eventually as we decided on the first come first serve ruling, though a certain Ahadnan 'Mr First 11' had to start obviously!

We also gave a debut start to new DRM signing Pachie, who showed a few glimpses of his Stevie-G-esque skills during the game itself, whilst Yamin and One Tabang returned from their loan spells looking like better players having obviously picked up the best of the British game. One Tabang in particular looked as if he could've had one of the opponents for breakfast, and is fast looking like the ideal long-term replacement for our chief henchman, Adi Tabang.

Our opponents, young Mechnical Eng. Trainees from the brunei Shell Learning Centre down the road, had the advantage of pace and skill, but the heart belonged to those in the yellow and green of DRM Brazil. We played good passing football and there were several chances to score even in the first fifteen minutes. A slip up in defense led to us leaking the first goal however, a long ball from midfield went over our entire defense who maybe were caught out trying to pull off the offside trap, and the Mets3 striker had no problem finishing from close range. Still we pushed on, and despite the fact that in the first half the pitch conditions favoured Mets3 (the side we were attacking was water-logged!) we managed to score an equaliser. Aizul who was playing in his favoured free role managed to confuse their two centrebacks, by playing a short feint which allowed him to set Hj Zul up on the left for a free run into the penalty area. And when the Snake has his sights set on goal, there really is no stopping him. Debutant Pachie had a few chances on goal, but failed to deliver the goods (note: we commend his effort though) whilst 'Fancy Dan' Khai looked a bit heavy on the feet and wasn't able to perform at his usually high standards.

Mets3 scored their second and the winning goal just before half time, taking advantage of the fact that we had just put on 3 subs which unsettled the team somewhat. The second half saw a completely new DRM team being fielded and we went for that equaliser which based on our first half performance we at the very least deserved. Luck wasn't on our side though and as the game went on the grip we had on ball possession slowly slipped away. The half wasn't without it's fair share of near misses though, Saiful Bulan was set up on the right and he managed to lose both their centre-back and left-back to leave himself free for a pop on goal which the keeper barely palmed away. Our best chance to equalise came when a free-kick was won just outside the penalty area, Fakhrul our very own dead ball expert stepped up to take but was quickly over-ruled by a confident-looking Vince, who despite the talk, only managed to shoot weakly at goal! That's the last we'll see of his free-kick exploits reckons the DRM manager!

Although the match ended against us, there are signs that this team is slowly coming together again. We showed plenty of team spirit and this one was definitely for the guys who celebrated their 10 year work anniversary!

Lack of Fitness

We played our first Fun Game in over a month on wednesday and there was a very encouraging turn out. The guys who turned up were Romeo - sorry dude forgot you the first time!, Nazri, Yamin, Rahimin, Aizul, Ivan, Fakhrul, Hammry, myself & Alimin who we saw going into the changing room but never turned up on the field!!! Where'd you disappear off to dude?!?!

The one main thing i can say is that we're all no where near in shape and ready for a game just yet. Seeing as how we didnt even make it to 6.15 pm that day, i reckon we'll probably play a few more fun games before i organise a friendly. Next week, we'll play a Fun Game either on Tuesday or Wednesday or both and we have Futsal at BSRC on Thursday night from 7.45 - 8.45pm already booked. Someone just needs to remind me to send the form & pay up!

Have a good weekend all!

DRM to Sign New Players???

Word is going around that DRM FC is about to make some new 'raya' signings to complement the current already star-studded squad. The gaffa has his sights on bringing in a new striker and a defensive midfielder, and when approached had only this to say, ' Negotiations are on-going at the moment, I'm quite confident that Yamin who can play in midfield & in defense will sign for us this Wednesday from Sheffield, whilst the second transfer is still at a preliminary stage so i can't yet divulge any details'

DRM Bula can confirm that Yamin is available on a Bosman type transfer having seen out his playing contract with Sheffield. He has had playing experience with DRM FC having played in several trial periods in previous years. Yamin is a combative tough tackling midfielder who is versatile enough to play in most positions and should be a good add to the squad. 'I cannot wait to sign for DRM FC, it would be a dream come true for me. I hope to be able to start in my favoured position in midfield, but i do know that the competition for places is tough at the moment. I'll be willing to play almost anywhere as long as i get a piece of the action.' was what Yamin had to say when contacted about the prospective transfer.

$10 Reward

Points/Goals/Assists Charts Updated

Raya Fever!

No football so far this month and it doesn't look like we'll be playing any football for the first 2 weeks of raya either! In any case, Amir & I were talking about maybe organising two fun game sessions each week in the first few weeks to give everyone an opportunity to shed those kilos and to slowly readjust back to our old fit selves!

Here's some general health advise to get you through the festive raya period!

1. avoid heaping food onto your plate! if the food's good have small portions of everything.
2. go easy on the carbonated drinks, juices or plain water is way more healthier
3. if you have friends/family living in the same area, consider walking from house to house
4. you don't have to scramble for that parking spot next to the entrance, park furthest away if you can, every little bit of exercise helps

Hope everyone has a good time over the coming weeks. If you're planning an Open House do let us know through the chat box.

Ramadhan Footie

Selamat berpuasa to all DRM-er's! Hope that we all take advantage of this special month to add on to our 'after-life' points ;)

Anyways, as far as football goes, there will be no friendly matches during Puasa. I don't think i'll be able to pull enough players to get us a full team. There are indoor footy sessions planned however at either SRC or Panaga Club. Let me know which day is convenient for you and we can start next week!

DRM v F19 Match Summary

Life without the student brigade began with a very strong DRM line-up at the start of the game. Mad Dog Meo who started in the centre of of the park for the first time this season had plenty to prove and he wasn't going to let his recent health scare on the Panaga golf course prevent him from bossing around the F19 midfielders. It was F19 who opened the scoring account first however, when a low through ball down the middle deceived our centre-backs and their striker easily rounded the on-rushing Yusra for a simple tap-in goal. Fadil came on immediately after the goal, replacing Meo, and he was an immediate impact, putting the ball in the top right hand corner of the F19 goal after a shot from Hadi hit the upright. F19 weren't going to go down easily, and they easily scored a second several minutes later when good play down the right put one of their players in plenty of space just outside the DRM penalty area. That was to be the last goal we conceded in the game. We worked hard for an equaliser, and it eventually came when Hadi put through Amir S for an Henry-like low shot with his right foot that went across the F19 keeper into the bottom corner.

Our third goal came, when Julberg won a free-kick in the middle of the park. There was some confusion initially as to who the referee had awarded the kick to. When things cleared up, Hammry stood forward and hammered that shot all the way from just before the half-way line. It sailed in the air for what seemed like hours, and eventually fell between the keepers outstreched arms, and into the back of the net. I'd thought what Ronaldinho did to David Seaman at the World Cup was awesome, this goal here was abso-fucking-lutely amazing!

The second half was pure damage control, as we put on our big boys in defense and they did a really good job of not letting any goals in. Ivan playing on the left flank ran his socks off and deserves at least a mention. It was Adi Adzman who made a difference in the 2nd half as his commanding presence at the back unsettled the F19 forward line and he easily took the Man Of the Match award hands down.

Goals & Assists Charts

Amir S currently still leads both the Goals & Assists charts though Shaheeb & Fakhrul are looking to end his run at the top with both on fine scoring form in recent games. There are still a few months left in this year for that!

Hadi is our DRM Youth Team top-scorer with a strike rate of 2 goals in 3 games played. Watch out for him to add to his tally at this Wednesday's game against F19!

Those Boys Down Under!

The boys in DRM Sydney were entered in their first official 5-aside tournament over the weekend, playing in the EVERY NATION WORLD CUP in Coral Sea Park, Maroubra (which i assume is some place in Sydney!) I'll probably be getting one of the boys to let us know how they fared in their tournament debut! Looking at the picture above, i can only say how relieved i am that they also have female friend(s) and it is hoped they shall be spared from this disease that has unfortunately plagued some of our better known players! *coughVince&AmirScough*

DRM Week Ahead

Weds : Fun Game @ BSRC, 5.15pm

Thurs : Futsal @ BSRC, 6pm (reply to Pg Azmi if you're playing!)

This week is a rest week so no friendly matches will be played.

Thank you also to those who attended our DRM Away Day at Pantai Seri Kenangan in Tutong on Sunday. We had lots of fun and i have been told that pictures are already up on the House of Gembo Photo Gallery and will soon be up on Mad Dog's!

Match Summary v Mud Boys

We were missing our regular keeper Yusra who was away on offshore duty last weekend, and in his place we had Ivan who turned out in goal for the first time in his DRM career. And what a revelation he was! He kept the DRM goal water tight in the first half, and even risked his neck in a 50/50 situation. For his effort he was voted joint man-of-the-match with Khai who set up our first two DRM goals.

The first half against Mud Boys ended in a stale mate with no goals scored which is becoming a rarity in DRM games. Adi Tabang playing against his old friends wasn't going to let a little thing like friendship get in the way of football and his trademark hard tackling was on show again. The ever improving Vince had another good game at the back with Fadil as the defense got mean and stingy. Julberg and Rahim worked hard upfront, but had very little opportunity to threaten Mud Boy's keeper, despite Khai's efforts running circles round the Mud Boy midfield.

There were several changes in the second half, Romeo and Shaheeb were the two substitutes with the most impact. It was Mud Boy's who got on the score sheet first though, after Renny's failed clearance bounced off their striker and put him through on goal. Shaheeb had several 1 on 1 chances with the goalie which he just couldn't convert perhaps taking abit too long on the ball when he should've taken the shot early but he didnt dissapoint on the third time of asking. Khai's deft touch put Shaheeb through on goal and his left foot shot was well placed to beat the keeper. The same combination produced a second goal this time on the opposite right flank, and with his right foot this time for DRM's second which took us into the lead for the first time. Arch scored our third goal, after running onto Danan's long ball and he side-footed the keeper and sealed our second consecutive away win of the season.

Match Summary v HD

We started the match minus 3 players and had to take on HD's subs to make up the numbers. Despite the obvious handicap the game started with the majority of possession in our favour, and it was obvious that we were intent on taking the game to the HD guys. Rahim and Arch in particular showed alot of creativity on the right flank where most of our game was centered. Against the run of play however, HD managed to score the first goal of the game, Shrum one of three DRM players on loan to HD, playing on the left wing got on to a through ball from midfield and his shot from outside the penalty area shocked both the DRM defense and our keeper. Our heads dropped after conceding that first goal and HD took full advantage managing to score a second and third goal in quick succession, the second coming when Hj Zul, also on loan to HD ran the length of the pitch and dummied both Renny and Vince for the second. Azhar the third loan player was involved in HD's third setting up their striker for a simple tap in.

The second half kicked off with a much stronger DRM line up with a proper full team this time round. Fadil, Johnny and Hadi gave us more bite in attack and gave the hard-working midfield several more options to follow on to. By then the tides had turned and we went on the offensive again, Hadi managing to register DRM's first goal in the match, and his second in two games, after Fakhrul had put in an inviting ball in the penalty area. Our second goal came with 10 minutes left on the clock when substitute Hammry hammered in from 15 yards out. He had just come on replacing defender Renny who had worked hard all game. DRM came close to an equaliser on numerous occassions, Hj Sah another DRM substitute playing on the right of midfield creating several of those chances. In the end it was Fakhrul who closed the deal, after hitting the upright just minutes before, when he was put through by Hj Sah. Although the game ended in a draw, it was a respectable result with the team showing dogged determination to come back in from 3 down and had we started off with a proper line up the results could have been so much more different.

DRM Striker Out For 2 Weeks

Current DRM top-scorer, the Brazilian wonder, Amirio is out for two weeks, after injuring his 2nd toe over the weekend in the Rafting Klasik event. Amirio's injury will be a big blow for the squad as he has been on a fine scoring form in recent weeks. His last absence from the squad was back in May when sent on a 5-week G180 course in Miri. The next two weeks looks to be especially tough, with an away game in Jerudong on Saturday, and Amirio's mazy runs will be missed. DRM Bula wishes him the speediest of recovery.

The other injury in the DRM squad, is our own Maradona carbon-copy, Amy Wahid. Amy's been out injured for a few months after twisting his ankle on a heavy BSRC pitch during a friendly outing. Amy's been resting his ankle and patiently awaiting a return to first team action. Let's hope to see him back on his feet sometime soon.

DRM Golf Championship Tommorow!

Just thought i'd give the guys in DRM Golf a plug. The DRM Golf Championship will be played tommorow (saturday) morning at Pantai Mentiri Golf Club. An estimated 30 players will be competing for one of the biggest event in the DRM Golf calendar. Plenty of prizes to be won too. Will i win my 2nd DRM event? heheh. That's a thought. Anyways, check out www.drm-golf.blogspot.com to get the official low-down or www.drm-golf-nut.blogspot.com for all the latest pre-tournament gossip.

BLNG Ops Game Called Off

Yesterday's game was called off due to an admin blunder by Mumong Sports Complex staff. They had initially released the Arena Seria field for play when DRM's gaffa called in to make the booking on Tuesday. State-run sports facilities are governed by a ruling that requires all facilities to close at 5pm every Thursday to respect 'malam jumaat'. DRM's gaffa wishes to apologise to all for the late cancellation.

On a brighter note, the HD v FD game that took place at BSRC, featured several DRM players who weren't going to let a little thing like a game cancellation stop them from playing ball. FD featured a DRM heavy lineup with Safe Hands Yusra, Pg Azmi, Julberg, Asri & Shaheeb, whilst HD started with Renny, Hj Zul & Azhar.

The match organised as a 'farewell' game for one of FD's players, ended in a 1-1 draw.

DRM FC - A truly international club

Interesting fact: We've got 27 players based abroad currently, spread across 8 countries on all 5 continents. What other local football club can claim the same! Did abit of research and here's where the guys are located. 17 are BSP scholarship students, who've been welcomed into DRM FC whilst on their work attachment in Seria, and are either studying in Sydney, Australia or in various cities in the UK. Whilst we also have 8 DRM old-boys who are on cross-posting in various Shell Operating Units around the globe (Malaysia, Nigeria, Oman, Scotland & Holland). Amir D & Yusriman are currently on a month long work assignment in the States and they make up the last 2 DRM players abroad. I guess it'd be pretty cool to hear from the guys abroad and how they're coping with life without DRM :p

A tribute to the Bench

As most footballers will know, the more important players in a team are not so much the 11 guys on the field, but more the 5 or 6 who sit patiently on the sidelines awaiting their turn in the match hoping to make a positive impact on the game once on. Making the right personnel changes in a game is important for obvious reasons, and a number of managerial reputations have been built by knowing when to bring in the right player at just the right time. It is often the difference between winning and losing, and matches have been turned around by substitutes coming on and taking the game to a whole new level. The bench can be a pretty frustrating place to be, especially if you're one of those eager type players who needs to always be in the thick of things, and waiting is your worst enemy. But it's also equally important for someone on the field to know that if injured or just plain worn out, there's someone by the sideline ready to take his place. In DRM FC, we preach the policy of giving everyone a run out with enough pitch time to satisfy all, just so long as you bother to turn up for matches and so far it's worked for us. Infact, the changes we made at half time in our last match against Kg Lumut turned the game round for us, and so we'll keep on doing what we do. Because if there were ever one thing that will tell you right at the start how well the team will fare during the game, it's how many subs you have on your bench. I say this from a DRM perspective, as conventional wisdom would have it that it is widely known that our players aren't exactly the fittest around, yours truly included, and the more players you have to bring on in a game, the more fresh legs you have to throw at your opponents, and the higher the team's chances are of actually finishing the game with 11 players. And if there's anything you could do to throw the game your opponents way, it's to give them a numerical advantage well before the final whistle. Thankfully, our turn-out in recent games has been excellent, long may it continue. Here's to the guys on the bench!

Match Summary v Kg Lumut

We finally broke our little losing streak by beating Kg Lumut today, 3 - 2. It was a hardfought game, as we battled from a goal down at half time to finally take the lead in the last 10 mins.

Things started off on the wrong note when the Lumut right winger got brought down badly by Renny after a mistimed tackle. They felt they got hard done by when the referee responded with only a verbal warning. Chaos ensued in the next 15 minutes as things got abit crazy on the field. Tackles flew around and their strikers had to resort to diving in an attempt to get our player sent off. Lumut got their breakthrough eventually when a penalty was awarded, after the ref had deemed that Yusra went for the strikers legs rather than the ball. A bad call in my opinion, he should've called for offside instead! DRM responded in the best way possible, G Khai took the ball from the restart and went past at least 3 Lumut players before finally putting through a weighted pass, which Hadi got at the end of, and his cheeky chip over the keeper was as good as any debut goal scored before. Lumut were to take the lead a second time, this time from a 1-2 which left their striker in open space to rifle a shot past Yusra's right side into goal. Fadil & Julberg both had chances before the interval but weren't able to convert.

For the 2nd game in the row, we had our student brigade to rely on, and deliver they did. Orchastrated by Amir S in midfield, we had plenty of chances created, and were unlucky not to have equalised earlier. Amir Z was brought down in the penalty area but the ref waved play on, and Haidi had a few chances which couldn't find the target. The equaliser came from a run made by Shaheeb in defense, eventually finding Haidi who managed to flick on to Amir S for our 2nd goal. We pushed forward with more confidence, with Matin & Zainal both coming close. Ayyub on the right flank made a few runs in which also caused some problems for Lumut's defense. The 2nd half defense marshalled by Shaheeb & Limin were mean and stingy, and gave away very few scoring opportunities for Lumut, which Yusra mostly dealt with easily. Fakhrul coming on a 2nd time in the match eventually got the winner when he was set up by Mike inside the box, and he wasn't going to miss from there. It always looked like we were going to hold on to that lead, and when the final whistle came, we all breathed a sigh of relief. It always a good feeling when you win.
